You've been diagnosed with a thoracic aortic aneurysm. Open surgery may not be your only treatment option.
A new investigational treatment is available at University of North Carolina if you've been diagnosed with an aneurysm of the thoracic aorta.
If you meet endovascular repair requirements, you could enroll in the STARZ-TX2 study (Study of the Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm Repair with Zenith TX2 TAA Endovascular Graft) and be treated with the Zenith TX2 system, a minimally invasive endovascular graft.
To be treated with the Zenith TX2 system, you must meet specific study requirements, including aortic aneurysm size and shape, and you may be followed post-treatment for five years.
For more information please call Dianne Glover, RN or Mark Farber, MD in the Department of Vascular Surgery, University of North Carolina Hospitals.
