Do you experience heartburn and regurgitation at least 3 times a week?

Are you between the ages of 18-70?

If the answers are YES, you could qualify to participate in a research study for the treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Qualified participants will receive free medical evaluations including a physical exam, laboratory tests and study related medication.

If you are a non-smoking male or female between the ages of 18 - 70 who has had a cough for more than 8 weeks, and are not taking any acid reflux medication- you may be eligible for a research study investigating GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) as a potential cause of cough.

Title: Have you taken Prilosec OTC?

Category: Acid Reflux



Do you meet the following criteria?

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Have not seen a doctor for your heartburn symptoms within the past 6 months
  • Currently taking or have taken at least 14 tablets of Prilosec OTC in the past 4 months
  • Have a history of frequent heartburn (at least 2 times a week on average prior to using Prilosec OTC)

If so, you may qualify to participate in a clinical research study. Study examinations and procedures including an edoscopy will be provided.
